This brown rice champorado recipe is designed to keep the calories low, while still satisfying those sweet cravings. Using brown rice is a much better health and nutrition alternative, with a lower GI than white rice and great fibre content. Ingredients:
✓ ¼ cup (50 g) Unpolished Brown Rice, rinsed
✓ ¼ cup (50g) Glutinous Rice, rinsed
✓ 2 tbs Unsweetend Cocoa Powder
✓ 2 tbs Muscovado Sugar
✓ 1 cup Low-Fat Milk
Method:
1. Combine ¼ cup brown rice, ¼ cup glutinous rice, 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, 2 tablespoons muscovado sugar, and 4 cups of water in a pot.
2. Bring to a boil over high heat.
3. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 25-30 minutes or until rice is tender, stirring constantly.
4. Ladle to serving bowls while hot and serve with low-fat milk on the side.
